Biography


Angela Sargsyan was born on December 16, 1982 in Yerevan Armenia.
Angela was an active child and loved sports at an early age. She began figure skating and swimming at the age of three. She continued figure skating through the age of thirteen. After figure skating, Angela took up karate and became a quick study. She earned a silver medal at 14 during the 1996 Armenian Youth Full Contact Karate Championships held in Yerevan Armenia.


Angela’s love towards sports has not waned and she continues to enjoy a healthy lifestyle that involves physical fitness on a daily basis and healthy eating. She is an avid paraglider, skier and swimmer.
In March of 2015 Angela became a Certified Scuba Dive Master. She loves all types of extreme sports including sharp shooting. Angela is proficient with several types of guns, rifles and assault weapons. Angela can speak Armenian and Russian fluently and is well on her way to mastering her English.
She has an excellent academic record, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Radiophysics and Electronics from Yerevan State University in 2003. Angela has also taken Masters level classes in the Armenian Film Movie Actor Studio. She has one elder sister, TV Director Anna Sargsyan and one younger brother, Theater Director Qajik Sargsyan.
Some significant roles in Angela’s Career include Angela’s first acting role, which she played at the age of 15, when she was in High School. In the play, “Yevgeny Onegin,” Angela played “Tatiana” and the rest as they say is history. Her theater career began in 1999 when Angela was a featured actress in Armenia’s famed Hrachia Ghaplanyan Drama Theater based in Yerevan, Armenia. This continued through 2017. In 2007 she starred as “Ivanka” in “Maximalist” for which she received a nomination for the “Best Young Actress” Artavazd Award. She followed that up in 2009 playing the starring role of Sophie in the Drama Theater production of “Ciao.” Also, in 2009 she played the starring role as Dona Anna in the Don Juan production of Hrachia Ghaplanyan Drama Theater, for which she received rave reviews. In 2010, she continued her career starring as “Jacqueline” in “O Anna, Anna or Passionate Sunday”. In 2008 Angela decided to try herself in television, and like in everything Angela does, she exceeded all expectations. Her starring role in the Armenian TV Series of “Snare (Vorogayt)” made her a household name! This series was one of the highest rated TV Series in the history of Armenian TV, gaining an average 80% share. In 2010 Angela continued her string of successful roles when she starred in two major TV Series simultaneously, “Where is my Man?” and “Kargin Serial” which catapulted her into superstardom both in Armenia and Armenian households all over the world. In 2011 Angela received a Style Screen Award for being one of Armenia’s most fashionable style influencers of the year.

In 2017 Angela came to the United States and starred in the US Armenian TV Production of the TV Series “Green Card” and is now starring as the lead actress in the US Armenia TV production for the TV Series “Intrigue” currently in post-production. This series is slated to premier September 2018
Personal life:
In 2002, Angela got married to Scientist and Yerevan University Lecturer Dr. Ghazar Avetisyan with whom she has a child with, Yeva Avetisyan. Unfortunately they decided to divorce in 2010. They remain very close friends. Angela has been living in Southern California with her daughter Yeva since January 2017.
